The Energy Market Regulatory Board’s Decision No. 14671 dated 18 June 2026 (Board Decision) was published in the Official Gazette dated 20 June 2026 and numbered 33286.

The Board Decision introduced a provisional measure for unlicensed electricity generation facilities that have completed their ten-year unlicensed generation period and are located at a different metering point than the consumption facility, within the scope of Resolution of the President No. 11415 dated 13 June 2026 (Resolution of the President).

Accordingly, it was decided that all surplus electrical energy generated by such facilities may be sold during 2026.

Under the Resolution of the President, the amount of surplus electrical energy eligible for sale was to be determined by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority. By exercising this authority, the Board Decision provides that, for 2026, the amount of surplus electrical energy eligible for sale shall be equal to the entirety of the surplus electrical energy generated by the relevant facilities.
