Erdem & Erdem hosted a webinar titled "Digital Markets and Competition Law in Light of Recent Developments" on Wednesday, April 29. Presented by Managing Attorney Ecem Süsoy Uygun and Attorneys Elvan Galatalı and Yiğit Alp Aslan, the event comprehensively addressed the impacts of rapid transformation in digitalization and artificial intelligence on competition law. Data-driven business models, platform economies, and concentration trends within the artificial intelligence value chain, along with their implications for competition policies and enforcement tools, were shared with participants using sector-specific concrete examples.

Key agenda items highlighted during the webinar included the sector inquiry into the artificial intelligence ecosystem initiated by the Competition Authority, the "Competition Policies in the Digital Age" study, and investigations conducted under the Mobile Ecosystems Sector Inquiry. The position of large technology firms within the digital ecosystem and the current and potential impacts of regulatory tools specific to digital markets were also discussed in depth from a competition law perspective.
